Outcome
On 30 March 2023, the ACMA made the Variation to Licence Area Plan – Mudgee Radio – 2023 (No.1).
We thank all of those involved in the consultation process.
The issue
The Mudgee LAP sets out the number and type of broadcasting services in the area.
We would like to make changes to the Mudgee LAP to allow commercial radio service 2MG to convert from an AM to FM transmission. Our proposal also includes planning for an FM repeater to serve Kandos.
For the 2MG main transmitter, we want to reuse spectrum originally planned for a community radio broadcasting service in the Mudgee RA2 licence area.
As this service has never been licensed, we propose to remove the planning of that service. This includes removing Mudgee RA2’s description from the Mudgee LAP.
