Spending on subscription TV drama

Owners of subscription TV licences and those who run TV drama channels must put money into new local dramas.

New eligible drama expenditure scheme

  • The scheme tells broadcasters and people who provide TV channels how much money they need to put into new local dramas.
  • They must put the money into shows that meet the rules as ‘eligible drama programs’.
  • 10% of spending on drama channels must be on new local dramas.

You can find out details of the scheme in section 103 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
