Outcome
On 30 November 2023, the ACMA Authority agreed to make the Radiocommunications (Digital Radio Channels – Tasmania) Plan Variation 2023 (No. 1), which has been registered on the Federal Register of Legislation.
A number of submissions suggested changes to the proposed technical specifications in the consultation paper. The ACMA had regard to these submissions, but considered that changes to the technical specifications required further consideration and, if appropriate, could be made through a variation to the Tasmania DRCP at a future date.
On 15 December 2023, the ACMA Authority agreed to make the Radiocommunications (Digital Radio Channels – Tasmania) Plan Variation 2023 (No. 2), which corrected a typographical error in the instrument of 30 November.
Previous consultation: The issue
We are proposing to vary the Radiocommunications (Digital Radio Channels — Tasmania) Plan 2007. The variation includes a digital radio channel plan for Launceston. This will mean that digital radio services for Launceston area can be rolled out in the future.
Have your say
This consultation does not ask specific questions. However, we welcome comment from interested stakeholders on the issues raised in this paper or any other issues relevant to digital radio in Launceston.
