Outcome
On 28 September 2023, we made the Variation to Licence Area Plan – Tamworth Radio – 2023 (No. 1).
We thank all of those involved in the consultation process.
Update (July 2023)
The initial consultation on our proposal to vary the Tamworth licence area plan closed on 27 January 2023.
We have since been made aware of a change to the proposed antenna height for the 2TM and 2TTT commercial radio broadcasting services as part of the AM to FM conversion.
We have now published an addendum to the consultation paper, which provides a summary of the findings. You can access this in the key documents section above.
The updated Draft Variation to Licence Area Plan – Tamworth Radio – 2023 (No. 1) is also available above.

The issue
We are proposing to vary the Tamworth licence area plan (LAP). This will involve converting the 2TM commercial radio broadcasting service to FM and planning for new commercial transmitters for 2TM and 2TTT at Barraba and Manilla.
We are also proposing to plan for an additional transmitter for the 2YOU community radio broadcasting service at Quirindi. This would remove the need for the current retransmission of the 2YOU service and will require listeners in Quirindi to retune.
