Small and medium-sized businesses: marketing messages and unsubscribe rules

Our research report looks at small and medium enterprises (SMEs) (with 0–199 employees) sending marketing messages to Australian consumers.

We explore the types of messages they send, their understanding of the unsubscribe rules under the Spam Act 2003, their compliance and their barriers to compliance, and their use of information sources on the rules.

The results will assist us to raise awareness of the unsubscribe rules and increase compliance.
