Action on interactive gambling: January to March 2023

Of the 219 enquiries and complaints we received from January to March 2023, 180 (82%) were valid complaints that we could investigate under the IGA.

Broken down over the quarter, we received 60 complaints and 12 enquiries in January; 58 complaints and 38 enquiries in February, and 62 complaints and 14 enquiries in March.

We completed 15 investigations that involved 21 gambling sites. We found one or more breaches of the IGA in 14 investigations. There were 20 findings of breaches:

• 19 for providing a prohibited interactive gambling service to Australian customers
• one for providing an unlicensed regulated interactive gambling service to Australian customers.

Types of breaches

We issued 14 formal warnings to providers:

• Cesario N.V. for providing a prohibited and unlicensed regulated interactive gambling service (Rock'n Reels).
• Dama N.V. for providing prohibited and unlicensed regulated interactive gambling services (Olympia Casino and N1 Bet Casino).
• Jackerbit Design for being a party to providing prohibited interactive gambling services (No Deposit Kings).
• Ramtinar TechConsult Ltd for providing a prohibited interactive gambling service (Rolling Slots).
• GBL Solutions N.V. for providing a prohibited interactive gambling service (Rolling Slots).
• Hollycorn N.V. for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Casino Jax, Mirax Casino and Wild Fortune Casino).
• Libergos Limited for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Casino Jax, Mirax Casino and Wild Fortune Casino).
• Dama N.V. for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Kosmonaut Casino and Slotozen).
• Friolion Limited for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Kosmonaut Casino and Slotozen).
• Beaufort Media B.V. for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Ignition Casino and Joe Fortune).
• Ridley Media N.V. for providing prohibited interactive gambling services (Ignition Casino and Joe Fortune).
• Alistair Solutions N.V. for providing a prohibited interactive gambling service (Shazam Casino).
• Feral Holdings Limited for providing a prohibited interactive gambling service (CS:GO Roll).
• After issuing one formal warning, the entity contacted the ACMA and we are now satisfied it is not the provider of the service.

We reported 20 URLs to accredited family-friendly filter providers for inclusion in the sites blocked when the filters are installed.

We have continued website blocking of services found in breach of the IGA. The majority are casino-style services offering games like blackjack, roulette, poker and slots. A number of the sites also provided wagering services without an Australian licence. It is an offence to provide or advertise these types of services to customers in Australia.

We blocked the following 56 websites. These relate to illegal gambling and affiliate advertising services, and include alternate sites set up to evade the blocks:
