In July 2019, the ACMA commenced an investigation under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 into Hughesy and Kate.

The program was broadcast on Hit 104.7 by Canberra FM Radio Pty Ltd on 21 February 2019 from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm.

The ACMA received a complaint alleging that the program incited severe ridicule of a group of persons because of a disability.

The ACMA has investigated the licensee’s compliance with 2.1.4 of the Commercial Radio Code of Practice (2017) (revised 2018) (the Code).
