On 3 and 4 July 2018, the ACMA received two complaints that the licensee of 2NUR, The University of Newcastle, was exceeding the five minutes per hour permitted for sponsorship announcements. The complaint raised concerns that between 11.00 am and 12.00 pm on 21 June 2018, sponsorship announcements were broadcast 12 times, and between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm on 1 July 2018, sponsorship announcements were broadcast 26 times.
