On 23 January 2018, the ACMA received a complaint that the licensee of 4BAY, Bayside Community Radio Association Inc, was operating the service as part of a profit-making enterprise. In addition, the complaint raised a concern that, at the conclusion of the Bay Breakfast program on 12 January 2018, the licensee broadcast material that caused distress and which did not meet community standards.
