Memorandum of understanding for the ACMA, Defence and ADF

The MOU between the ACMA and the Department of Defence outlines acceptable parameters for Defence to conduct its operations where Defence practice areas overlap submarine cable protection zones. The MOU confirms the obligation on submarine cable operators to consult with Defence prior to accessing the practice areas and the ACMA’s obligation to consult with Defence on applications for submarine cable permits, or before making or varying any protection zone declarations.
