LOG 2: Justification of different rates for calls to 13/1300 and 1800 numbers from mobiles as opposed to those made by landline calls

The FOI request sought access to documents that disclosed representations to Agency/Departmental considerations by carriers, service providers or organisations representing carriers and service providers (such as Communications Alliance) that relate to the justification of different rates for calls to 13/1300 and 1800 numbers from mobiles as opposed to those made by landline calls. The request was confined to documents created after 1 September 2010.

Disclosure summary

Two documents came within the scope of the request and were released to the applicant in full.

Doc 1 is an Industry briefing to ACMA and DBCDE by Communications Alliance (CA) and the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (AMTA).

Doc 2 is CA and AMTA response to ACCAN/ ACOSS/ AFFCRA submission on the cost of accessing 1800 and 13/1300 services from mobile phones.
