NBN Co and other carriers must ensure Australians have access to broadband
Statutory Infrastructure Providers (SIPs)
Where telco infrastructure providers (including NBN Co and other carriers) are required to be SIPs, they must make sure all Australians have access to either a superfast fixed-line, fixed wireless or satellite broadband connection.
We collect data and maintain a register of SIPs, to ensure they follow the rules.
What can we help you with?
The Telecommunications Act 1997 sets out connection and supply obligations on the SIP of a service area
SIPs must provide specific information to the ACMA
The SIP register includes a list of SIPs and the locations of their broadband service areas
You can use the map provided to search an address or suburb to see who the SIP is
How, when and where to give notice.
