Intra-service coordination

Inter-service coordination

  • Restrictions apply on the availability of some, or all, LPON frequencies in certain areas because of the potential for interference to the reception of broadcasting services. These exclusion zones, along with the affected frequencies, are detailed in the above mentioned attachment.

AP alert

Applications for transmitter licences and variations to existing licences must conform to the LPON Planning Model.  No exemptions are to be granted.


Note that restrictions apply on the distance that a transmitter can move from its initial licensed location. Refer to the applicable business operating procedure for more information.

Transmitter licences for LPON services are allocated by the ACMA under a price-based allocation process in accordance with the Australian Communications Authority (LPON Transmitter Licence Allocation) Direction No. 3 of 2000. Refer to the LPON applicant information package for more information.
