The ACMA's website has been developed in conjunction with members of the general public and industry using the latest user-centric design methods. The site has many options for finding information. This page is here to help you get started.
What's new
The ACMA launched the site in February 2007, marking a substantial departure from both its first website and the websites of its predecessor organisations, the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA) and the Australian Communications Authority (ACA).
The site brought a number of new features:
- A new search engine based on Australian technology, ISYS:web 8.
- A new interface incorporating an innovative navigation system, helping the ACMA effectively cater for the over 800 topics it needs to cover as a regulator.
Navigating the site
This site has a number of methods available to help you find what you're looking for.
Method 1: Are you a member of the public or from industry?
The main navigation of the site, available on the left hand menu, is designed to cater for you as a member of the general public or as a licensee or member of the communications and media industry.
Method 2: Do you only want...
If you are specifically interested in a specific industry sector, use the Do you only want... navigation. This is available below the ACMA logo on the home page, and also as the first option on all sub pages.
The Do you only want... sections filter the left hand menus to give you only industry specific and common information only.
Method 3: Search
The ACMA have implemented a brand new search engine - use this in the top right of any page. Try searching for specific phrases instead of individual keywords. For example, instead of searching for 'codes of practice' search for 'television codes of practice'.
Mehod 4: Site map
You can view the whole site at once using the site map tool, available on the top right of every page.
