Register of licensed carriers and nominated carrier declarations

The Register of licensed carriers and nominated carrier declarations is established under section 84 of the Telecommunications Act 1997. The Register lists all carrier licences and nominated carrier declarations that are in force and the conditions of such licences.

Licensed carriers

The listing of licensed carriers has been created as an Excel spreadsheet to enable the data to be manipulate for viewing/filtering/sorting etc.

Conditions of carrier licences

Under the Telecommunications Act 1997 ('the Act') carrier licences are subject to the following conditions:

1. Section 61 of the Act provides that a carrier licence is subject to conditions specified in Schedule 1 to the Act.
2. Section 62 of the Act provides that a carrier licence is subject to the condition set out in section 152AZ of the Trade Practices Act 1974.
3. Section 63 of the Act provides that a carrier licence may be subject to any conditions declared by the Minister administering the Act including:
   1. conditions in addition to those referred to under sections 61 and 62 of the Act, applying to all carrier licences and
   2. conditions on specified carrier licences (the licences can be specified individually or by class).

The listing of nominated carrier declarations has been created as an Excel spreadsheet to enable the data to be manipulate for viewing/filtering/sorting etc.
