Reserve prices

Reserve prices have been set for smartnumbers®. The decision on reserve prices follows public consultation. Further information associated with the consultation process and the ACMA's discussion paper can be found at Possible changes to the operation of smartnumbers®, including a reduction in the reserve prices (IFC 32/2009).

Reserve prices for public process

The reserve prices for numbers auctioned under the Telecommunications (Freephone and Local Rate Numbers) Allocation Determination 2007 (No. 1) have been set according to the characteristics of different numbers.

The numerical patterns in numbers and the capacity of numbers to be translated to words have been used to differentiate between reserve prices. The reserve price for numbers are summarised in Table 1 below.
