The ACMA is a founding member of the International Media Literacy Research Forum (IMLRF).

The IMLRF aims 'to provide a platform for professional researchers, policy-makers/regulators and practitioners from across the world to share knowledge and expertise in the field of media literacy.'
Membership of the forum is open to countries, organisations and individuals, and you can apply for membership online at the above URL.
The International Media Literacy Research Forum Founder Members include: the New Zealand Broadcasting Standards Authority (BSA); the Canadian Association of Media Education Organisations (CAMEO); the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) in Ireland; the United States - National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE formerly AMLA); the Office of Communications (Ofcom) in the UK, and the ACMA.
Founder Members in each country act as a ‘hub’ for that territory, providing the proposed country specific framework information. The ACMA’s framework is available on the website. It provides background and context to media literacy activity in Australia, including identifying the political, social/cultural, technological/market, learning and regulatory contexts in which media literacy research studies have taken place.
