International activities

The ACMA engages with key international stakeholders to ensure that Australian industry and consumers can benefit from the ever-increasing range of communications products and services.

The ACMA's high profile within the international radiocommunications and telecommunications communities includes attendance at international meetings and extensive industry and stakeholder consultation. 

The ACMA also provides technical expertise and regulatory input to the development or maintenance of broader government objectives.

Most recently, the ACMA focused its international engagement on:

  • online content and child protection
  • anti-spam initiatives
  • increasing harmonisation of spectrum usage
  • promoting end-user involvement and accessibility in the development of international standards.

The ACMA's regional strategy sets out the ACMA involvement in regional telecommunications and radiocommunications standardisation activities.
